FRUTH, Bernadette (Bernie) Bernadette (Bernie) Fruth was born January 24, 1921 in Richmond, Minnesota to William and Marina Bach. She married Benedict Fruth (deceased) and moved to San Francisco, California. In 1950 they moved to Sonoma. She worked as a check-out clerk at 20th Century grocery market, which became Food City grocery. She retired in 1977. She died September 8, 2017, of natural causes. Since then she has been doing alterations and general sewing as a hobby, along with some time doing food demonstration at the local grocery stores. She also spent five years as a volunteer at the Sonoma Valley Hospital. She and her husband were active members of the Moose Lodge in Sonoma and were very active in all the functions there for over 30 years. They were active members of St. Francis Solano Church. Bernie enjoyed baking and would share those with anyone who stopped by or helped with things that needed done around the house in her later years. Bernie is survived by her son David Fruth and wife Toni (Eureka, CA), daughter Carol Lynn and husband Al (Sonoma), granddaughter Anita Peterson and husband Scott, great granddaughters Quetzal and Phoenix Peterson (Wisconsin). Visitation at Duggan's Mission Chapel at 525 West Napa St., Sonoma, CA will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on September 19th, 2017. A Mass will be said at St. Francis Solano Church, on September 20th, 2017 at 11:00, with interment afterwards. A gathering will be at the Moose Lodge, Sonoma, at 1:00, with refreshments, and will be available for those that wish to celebrate her life with family and friends.
