Though the Moose fraternal organization was founded in the late 1800's with the modest goal of offering men an opportunity to gather socially, it was reinvented during the first decade of the 20th century into an organizational dynamo of men and women who set out to build a city that would brighten the futures of thousands of children in need all across North America.

The Moose is a fraternal organization with active members in all 50 states plus Canada, Great Britain, and Bermuda.  The Moose Organization contributes nearly $100 million worth of community service each year.  Mooseheart Child City & School near Chicago, Illinois cares for children and teens while Moosehaven near Jacksonville, Florida offers retirement for senior members.  The national focus of Moose service is directed toward many worthwhile charities including Special Olympics of North America, The Salvation Army, and Big Brothers - Big Sisters.

Our Sonoma Moose Lodge plays a role in these activities as well as serving our local Sonoma Community.  We give money to local schools, 4-H Clubs, as well as money to local families who have hardships such as a child who is battling cancer.  We have individual and family activities such as a children's Easter Egg Hunt, breakfast with Santa, Barbeques, Bingo, and dancing.  Being a member of the Moose can mean different things to different people.  You determine what you want to get out of the organization and what you want to give back.  The Moose is about celebrating life together, serving those in need in our local Sonoma Community, supporting children at Mooseheart and standing by our senior members at Mooseheaven.
